Ingredients
- Pan size: 9x13
- 1.120 gram of milk
- 200 grams of granulated sugar
- 90 grams of semolina
- 30 grams of corn starch
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 lemon zest
- 1 pinch of salt
- 90 gram of butter
For coating:
- 2 tablespoon of water
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoon of granulated sugar
To serve (optional):
- 2 tablespoon of granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- Mint
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 365 degrees F (180 degree celcius).
- In a pot, add the milk, sugar, and boil it in medium heat.
- In a bowl, mix semolina, cornstarch, eggs, vanilla extract, lemon zest, salt, and mix well.
- With a ladle, slowly add the milk from the pot into the bowl with the eggs.
- Stir constantly until the cream thickens.
- Remove from the heat. Add butter and mix until the butter melts.
- Spray the pan with cooking spray or butter. Sprinkle with semolina (on the base).
- Pour the whole mixture and spread it well with spatula.
Coating:
- In a bowl, add water, egg, sugar. Mix well.
- With a pastry brush, spread it over the whole surface of the milk pie and bake for 40-45 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and allow at least 4 hours for it to cool own.
- Serve with sugar, honey, cinnamon, and mint.
