Pre-check up
I went to Jakarta Eye Center on 17 May 2017 to get pre-lasik check up which entails checking the thickness of my cornea, retina, and all other stuff to make sure i am eligible for the surgery. Then my doctor offered two different types of procedure.
It came down to: Z-LASIK vs reLEx SMILE
After some consideration on both procedure, i scheduled to go for reLEx SMILE on 29 May 2017.

During the procedure
Before i went to the operating room (OR), they give me eye drops which are the local anesthesia (around 30 minutes before the surgery). Then in the OR, they gave me some more anesthesia and like something to hold my eyes open for the procedure.
Then all i had to do was look at the green light and follow the instruction given. I was coherent on the whole procedure. I can hear, "suction on", "suction off" and then i think the machine says something like "safe distance" which means it was time for the lenticule to be removed by the surgeon. I feel some pressure on my eye, like there is something is poking on it, but it doesn't hurt.
After the procedure, i went back to the prep room and started feeling some pain as the anesthesia wore off. Then it gets more and more intense like a burning sensation which are expected (i've been told before the procedure on what to expect post-op). It was also watery, very bright and cloudy. They also gave me a goggles to wear to prevent me from scratching my delicate eyes.
I went home. (i close my eyes all the way from there until i get home - around 1 hour considering the traffic situation in Jakarta) - so make sure you arrange your transport before the procedure. Anyways, then i put on the eye drops given by my doctor and slept it off.
When i woke up (around 1-2 hours), my vision was better but still not clear (4 hours post-op). I was a little bit worried that my eyes are not going to be perfectly normal. But i try not to be alarm about the whole situation and give my eyes some more time to heal. All i want to do is sleep anyways because i can still feel some pain (less intense compare to right after the procedure) and dryness on both eyes. i applied the eye drops and slept it off again (i wore the goggles given the whole time).
Ps: i have sensitive eyes. Everyone has different level intensity of pain depending on their condition. Only you can tell.
I was given 3 different eye drops post surgery. I use it every 2-3 hours and 5 minutes apart (from one drop to the other) for 5 days straight.

Post-operation (post-op)
Day 1 - post op: The next morning after the surgery, i can see everything crystal clear. I went back to the doctor for post-check up. Everything went smooth, my eyes are healing the way it should and i am glasses free! I still feel some pain and dryness but it is far more manageable and i keep on applying the eye drops as the doctor instructed. I went out with my friend to get dinner at a shopping mall but the air-conditioned environment make my eyes more dry than it should (so... i apply more eye drops).
Day 2 - feel better. less pain. Some dryness still persisted but its better than yesterday. I just wore the goggles to sleep and don't forget to keep on applying the eye drops as instructed. I was clear to drive so i went to get groceries, everything was fine. I wore sunglasses to avoid dust and the sun rays.
1 month update - everything feels normal. Just remember to keep putting the eye drops, wear sunglasses and do not scratch your eyes!
